Are Instagram question stickers anonymous?
No. Instagram’s Questions sticker collects answers with the responder’s account attached. When you open the responses on your story, each one shows who sent it. There is no setting to turn that off.
What does stay hidden is the sender’s name when you reshare an answer. If you tap a response and post it to your story, your viewers see the question and the answer but not the username. That’s why it can look anonymous from the outside, even though the person who posted the sticker knows exactly who wrote it.
Who sees what
| Instagram question sticker | Anonymous link on your story | |
|---|---|---|
| You (the poster) | See every responder’s username | See only the message |
| Your viewers, when you share an answer | Don’t see the username | Don’t see the sender |
| Responder needs an Instagram account | Yes | No, it opens in the browser |
| Paid “hints” about senders | Not applicable | None on Tell Me Anything |
How to get anonymous questions on your Instagram story
- Create your free link on the Tell Me Anything homepage. It looks like tellmeanything.link/u/yourname.
- In your dashboard, pick a game (for example ask me anything, tbh or rate me), then tap Add to your story · Instagram.
- The story guide copies your link and gives you a ready-made story image. Share the image to Instagram.
- In the Instagram story editor, tap the sticker icon, choose the Link sticker and paste your link.
- Place the sticker on the dashed box in the image and post your story.
- Read the questions in your Messages tab. To answer one publicly, use Reply on your story; it builds a reply image with the question on it.
Prompts that get answers
- “ask me anything 👀 (I’ll answer the best ones)”
- “tbh, what do you really think of me?”
- “rate me 1–10, anonymously”
- “describe me in 3 words”
- “send me a hot take you’d never post”
- “confess something, I won’t know it’s you 🤫”

Keeping it fun (and safe)
Anonymous questions can bring out the best and the worst in people. In your Tell Me Anything profile, the Safety section lets you:
- Hide words: messages containing words you list never reach your inbox.
- Pause your link: when the story’s done, switch messages off until you want them again.
